Bridge the Gap
Workforce Development
LifeStyles of Maryland’s “Bridge the Gap” Workforce Development Program is expanding its training and placement services through a grant from the Maryland Department of Labor.
We know that employment is often a vital first step toward overcoming homelessness and finding security and stability. If you are homeless or facing the prospect of homelessness, this program can help you with:
- Identifying jobs and matching clients who have relevant skills
- Coordinating job training for various skills
- Training on interview skills, resume writing, and communication
- Providing transportation and other supportive services for initial employment and employment retention
At our White Plains Day Shelter, LifeStyles has computers available for those who need access to the internet to help find work. Our Southern Maryland Works Coordinator will assist job seekers in obtaining and retaining employment.
As required with the Stevens Amendment, federal funding details for this grant are provided: This program is funded by a grant from the Maryland Department of Labor. The MD Labor funds are 100 % ETA federal funds and 0% state, local and/or non-governmental funds.
